FMA doubledrabble - "Steam"

aquabeanRight. Not NaNo, but it had to be done 'cause I couldn't fit this into the story until like... way later anyway. So, here you are, a little Roy/Ed because... Heh. There are people out there who'll like it.

Summary: Umbrellas are over rated anyway.
He was useless in the rain, completely and utterly. Which was almost novel, so he wandered out into it as often as possible, despite the cold, just to let it soak him to the skin.
His coat always smelled when he came home, the almost-stink of the wool enough to make him leave it dripping in the hall.
Some days his socks squelched when he pulled his feet from his boots, so those he left in the hamper in the bathroom with his pants and the dress shirt he probably could have worn again if he hadn't just soaked all the creases from the collar.
Getting wet clean down to his underwear was something that happened with less frequency. Most times he shuffled down the hall to his bedroom in nothing but boxers, only the warmth of his bed on his mind.
Somewhere along the line, he couldn't recall when, he'd gotten flannel sheets and on rainy nights he loved them more than almost anything.
"…You're an idiot. Just get in already, or you'll catch cold and then I'll get sick and then I'll have to kill you, and that'd be a pain in the ass to clean up."
But only almost.

Date: 2005-11-05 11:30 pm (UTC)Entirely apart from the ambiguity of your prior Roy-centric drabble, you've really gotten your Edvoice back. The Roy/Ed runs strong with this one. Love Roy being introspective and the words missing in the dialogue. Roy/Ed makes me terribly happy, especially on certain plateaus. Damn us, that's not until...March.
