A quote, which, I fear describes me perfectly...

"I tell myself stories all day long. I have managed to weave a fairy-tale of infinite complexity around the inanimate objects in my house... No one in my family is surprised to find me putting the waffle iron away on a different shelf because...it has quarreled with the toaster... It looks kind of crazy, of course. But it does take the edge off cold reality."
--Shirley Jackson

Also, a drabble. (For [livejournal.com profile] sariyuki, because she wrote me one. And [livejournal.com profile] karose, because headaches are terrible.)

Title: Drive
Author: rune*
Words: 100
Summary: Sometimes it’s almost worth it.

His head hurt, and the slowly darkening bruise on his cheek throbbed. It had been stupid to start a fight in the first place, but those guys -- even now it made his stomach churn, anger becoming a physical sensation as the acid in his stomach burned.

“You could have let it go.” Sanzo’s voice was quiet beside him. One hand on the steering wheel, he reached out with the other, sliding his fingers along the bruise, the gesture surprisingly gentle.

Hakkai’s shoulders slumped, feet rising to rest on the dash, “You never do.”

“You usually don’t let me drive either.”

Bummer.

But you're soooo close. It's like a present to yourself; finish all your research and get to have fandom fun!

*whispers* Besides, I'm making candy on Sunday and some of it's getting sent to YOU!

Fandom fun, huh?
The last time I wrote a ficlet the day after my defense. Well.. it was never published for a reason of the couple of people I had shown it to, were... um.. clueless is not the word.

Nightfall is 110% capable of being totally 'clueless,' especially this winter. You should not judge your work by her understanding or manners, neither of which have been totally reliable lately. She hopes she hasn't said anything overwhelmingly stupid and is looking forward to an explosion of pent-up fanwork as soon as you decide you're allowed to.

Uh, no-no. The problem is in me. And as to the fanwork, (all of) you are doing quite well, so I'll resort to chewing popcorn candies and watching, when time allows.
