Who finally got those crazy bastards to leave the rest-stop? Me!*

...except we aren't anywhere near the final destination and unless something drastic happens this piece is going to end up being a lot longer than originally planned.**

*It's good to know that I can still get SOMEthing done at lunch.
**This is a side story damn it. Not the main attraction, just a piece of background*** and here it is, stopping my brain and keeping me from getting to other stuff. That Ken/Tatsumi piece is starting to do that 'gnaw your own leg off to get free' thing in the back of my brain and I don't know how much longer I can hold out for.

***Okay, so footnote to the footnote, because, yeah, maybe stuff does happen here that factors in later, but still. Write yourself, piece of fic! Write yourself!

I think last time you posted an "OMG my muses are out of control" update, I said this too, but just to reiterate:

These are the days I don't wish I knew what it was like inside your head. You have my sympathies, especially with the...leg...issue. >.O Congratulations on leaving the rest stop, at least.

'Course, it's not like my muses have been behaving themselves either--they BROKE UP. Or rather are in the process of doing so, without my permission or encouragement, and are tearing my mood apart in the process...I give them /way/ too much leash, I think.

::glare::

This is so soap-operatic it's not even snicker-worthy. Gaaah.

My muses occasionally hear music that makes them go, "Oh, that would so be our song if we ever broke up," and I say, "Are you going to?" and they say, "Oh, hell no! It's just that that would be our song if we ever did." At which point I just roll my eyes and try to focus on my driving. Because of course this always happens when I'm in the car.

::laughing uproariously*::

That is...Oh, god. And see, as soon as I read that line I /heard/ Gojyo, clear as a bell.

As maddening as they can be sometimes, little moments like these, and being able to /share/ them as well as live them, are almost as rewarding as the actual writing process for me.

You know, some people might just think we were crazy.

...then again, anyone who has Saiyuki style muses living in their head MUST be crazy.

Here's the thing. It's a roadtrip story. Those never stay short, and they never stay in the bounds of your original plot idea. So just go with it, and throw Tatsumi and Ken a soccerball to keep them occupies.

Occupied, even. Sheesh. I blame the cheeseburger craving.

Yeah, see, this whole trip of these was supposed be a short drive and then it turns out Mark is big liar and...yeah, well, I'm still just glad to have them on the road again. For now....There's still that diner.

Yeah, but you knew Mark was a liar, so no use pretending you believed him now. *G* And yes, the diner. With cheeseburgers. This must happen.

*grins* We'll just have to see what kind of witty banter pops up around the diner menu, now won't we?
