"Where're you going?"

A small shrug. Apparently the destination didn't matter.

"O-kay. What're you gonna do when you get there?"

One eyebrow rose, and again it seemed that they were measuring the goal by different standards.

"So, you don't know where you're going or what you're gonna do when you get there, but you're leaving and there's nothing I can do about it?" Kenren hadn't meant to sound petulant, but what did Tenpou expect when he said, "I won't be around forever you know." No, he did not know. They were gods for fuck's sake, all they had was forever.


May or may not write something longer with this as a start. Don't know enough about Gaiden though. Maybe if someone else wants to work with me? *looks at WL pointedly*

I just love the idea of Tenpou tossing a statement like that out there, and Kenren, because he really does pay more attention than people think, latching on to it. He'd be all worried, and Tenpou would be sort of amused until he realized how serious Kenren was.

Ah, this was wonderful. There are so many directions this could go. :)

The first time I read through this I thought that this was all happening on the level of Kenren's/Tenpou's relationship. Perhaps something happened to piss Tenpou off and he wanted to get away from Kenren.

The second time through, I thought that perhaps Tenpou had been ordered somewhere or into some dangerous situation that Kenren maybe didn't know about (Tenpou was trying to protect Kenren from involvement?) and that Tenpou feared he might not survive it (What can kill a god?).

Maybe I should read this a third time...

Reading number 3: Tenpou is trying to slip out for an "appointment" with Goujun. Kenren suspects as much and is annoyed (jealous?), that's why all the questions. Poor Tenpou... perhaps it is all completely innocent?

*snerks* And of course, Kenren is thinking that maybe he's missing out on his chance with Tenpou and so this when he finally makes his move and they get to have mad happy office sex.
