Today is my birthday and I don't know how I feel about that.

Took me 1 1/2 hours to get to work today. I heart SoCal traffic.

My parents remembered my birthday though, which has been forgotten in the past, so go them.

I may not have gotten in until 9:00 this morning, but I'm leaving at 5:00. No matter what.

There is some kind of family function this afternoon which claims to have something to do with my birthday. Heh. I just hope that there's cake.

WL made me a shiny new icon. Hee! (side note to WL: lj says it's too big to load...?)

I think I'm busy feeling sorry for myself, which is why I don't like birthdays. It's all angst for no reason. I'm going to go get work done now and just be glad that casual friday means I don't have to wear heels.

[Note: I have a headache that is all. I do not actually feel bad or hate birthdays. The pain between my eyes just makes it hard to be chipper. Sorry all. *smiles, sheepish*]

Thank GOD Collin and Fox are still around in FH. Though I haven't read any of it (*yet*), I joy that it exists. Otherwise I hink I'd keel over and DIE of deprivation.

I love them so. But I miss Skids--ah, Gio--and Cy and (gasp) I even miss Tybalt!!

Isn't that just to be expected, though? I mean, not only has the art naturally evolved to a much higher level, the angst-factor has been toned way down. It's still there in enough doses to keep interest and give a few wrenches (and smiles during comfort scenes) but there's something a little more ...fun in FH. Something about the Maharassa vibe in general X3

You're not being needy, it's your BIRTHDAY. A day where all the "polite modesty" bull goes out the window, and you can simply be unabashedly proud to be yourself, to have your mind and your wit and your troubles, even. You can tell the world everythign about you that makes you worthwhile and interesting and shining and un-replicatable and compelling. Living fully and wildly and openly as you is never better than on your birthday.
