Hakkai had gone upstairs early with a headache, which was understandable. Ridiculous heat all day and staring into the setting sun couldn't be good for anyone. Having to use his chi to heal the stupid monk after another run in with some even stupider youki probably hadn't helped either.

Curled on his side, eyes squeezed shut, Hakkai looked small in the bed. He hadn't even had the energy to close the curtains, and a thin bright blade of light cut across his face.

Tugging the curtain shut Gojyo knelt beside the bed. One green eye fluttered open, and Hakkai smiled.

Also? Gojyo is very relieved about the pairings conversation. He's been kinda jumpy ever since the other day. *shifty little grin* Comfort RPG seems to do wonders for both typist and muse.

I have *such* a weakness for drabbles...

mmm. And like wilde said, I adore the slightly playful of Gojyo plus the deeply emotional all in one bundle that doesn't MATTER whether they're together or not, because they're best friends no matter what, and you show that friendship above anything else.

Which is beautiful and all too rare an occurence in fanfic.
