1. He lied about his age to get into the military early. He's been lying about it for so long now, though, that he's almost forgotten his real age himself (25).

2. Can not, even now, grow an actual mustache. He just doesn't have it in him. That whole Xingian half-breed thing just works against him in that respect. Makes him tan better some of this men though.

3. At one point, because it seemed like the cool thing to do with his own particular affinity and because he was only about 18 and he was hoping to look older, he tried smoking. All it did was make him puke in some poor stranger's begonias. He's given up on it since then.
