Kitchen is now approximately 70% clean. The rubber gloves were a God-send and I fully intend to use them when I've worked up the nerve to tackle the stove. *shudders* Ew stove.

In other news we're now about to put together an unreasonably large number of boxes and then drive several of said boxes (once filled) to the new apartment. Whee to moving in by fits and starts.

It's eight o'clock and we need to find some leftovers to eat. I'm thinkin' maybe that KFC. Mmm.

Sympathies on the kitchen cleaning. I'm doing spring cleaning, myself, and managed to acquire a generous coating of dustbunnies and pet hair while attempting to shake out rugs on the balcony. Stupid wind.

I generally don't like to use much disposable stuff (wipes, paper towel, etc) if something reuseable (rags, etc) can do the job, but yet am a firm believer in foil liner trays for the oven, and under the stover burners, too. Unfortunately they only work as a preventative, so no use to you right now. :(

THAT STOVE WAS SO VERY VERY VERY GROSS.

And really, it was less about the under the burners (though, now that you've mentioned it and reminded me I'm totally gonna do that here at the new place! :D) than about that fact that Former Roommate used to fry things without putting a lid on anything or bothering to wipe up all the grease splatter. Seriously. It was nasty.

Triumph was mine though, and now I have left behind a clean kitchen with mopped floors and everything. ...though your story there makes me glad that we don't have any pets quite yet. Eesh. I always forget the trials of pet hair seeing as how I haven't had any fuzzy friends since I moved out of my parent's place after university.

I think it's the black boogers that are the final sign of We Really Need To Dust More Often. Eh heh ^^;;

You know what you do? You put the leftover fried chicken in a tortilla with salsa cream cheese and whatever else good in tortillas you find around the house. It is yummers.

See, yeah, totally awesome! It actually reminds me of what I do with roasted chicken (don't like the chicken flavor. Eh heh...). You just take the bird (or whatever bits you have left) down to little tiny pieces and toss them into a skillet with about two tablespoons of olive oil, a tablespoon of oregano and a generous sprinkling of both black pepper and garlic salt. Smooge it all around in the pan (on med-high heat) for about 15 min, or until the chicken shreds itself and starts to turn toasty brown. For best results let it actually get a little crispy.

We top it pretty much everything you have there, but the thing that adds the extra goodness is finely chopped cabbage; it gives just the right amount of extra crunch and lightness to the tacos. All in all it's super quick and SO good.
