karotsamused?
permetaform?
..so I woke up this morning with a tiny baby Aoyama wandering around in my head, getting to know the place and...
He asked me a question...
WHERE THE HELL IS AKAGI'S FAMILY? Everyone else has one! Is he all alone in the world with no one to be proud of him but his team and... Shirota?
DAMN IT ONE OF YOU WRITE ME SOMETHING!

Date: 2006-08-29 01:33 am (UTC)Also. Obviously he's tragically familially deprived, due to being the central character of a mostly shounen show.
That, or they've formally disowned him but are still on friendly terms, mailing him once every two weeks and calling every couple months, at least till the attacks picked up, at which point they began calling during each attack because he had to have gotten that rotten timing from somewhere, right? Right. He doesn't answer the calls or really realize they're happening most of the time, the girls at the office field them for him and are on first-name basis with his parents, who send them small fruit baskets for the holiday of their choice.
They're very proud of their son, yes, in that abstract way that parents who don't really get what their children are up to are. Last they checked he was a nice normal office worker, and now he's saving the world. The connection goes a bit over their heads.
They are, however, completely up-to-date and in touch with their dear boy's love life, more so than he is most of the time. This is also due to the girls in the office. They think Shirota's a nice sweet young man and send him chocolates because Akagi surely isn't taking good enough care of him to do so.

Date: 2006-08-29 02:26 am (UTC)Or that he's dead certain it wasn't Akagi who told Akagi's parents that there was a Someone who should be sent chocolate.
That thought melts into the warm from Akagi leaning against his shoulder which abruptly morphs into warm (sick) in his stomach and distracts him. By the time he's successfully quelled the gag reflex, he's remembered he's not surprised that it's not fair.

Date: 2006-08-29 02:39 am (UTC)Really, I'm with Karot. Probably killed by the Hederodine or some other random type event.
Besides, the canon is so complete, it pays so much attention to the details of the characters. It would just be sloppy to leave them out if they're still around. In any capacity. The one thing I'm willing to conceed (considering that we only got one season) is that there's potential for dead parent emo that just never really got touched on. Not yet. *nod*

HEH!
And yeah, no emo, but... motivation? Like why he joined up, you know? It's got to be more than just giant robot anime that got him going.
OMG IT WAS THE OLD RAMEN STAND GUY WHO USED TO WAX POETIC ABOUT HIS GLORY DAYS DRIVING A TANK AND HOW ONE DAY THERE REALLY WOULD BE ROBOTS AND ALL KINDS OF STUFF LIKE THAT OMG OMG :D :D :D

Date: 2006-08-29 02:59 am (UTC)Besides, my Akagi firmly holds to the fact that if he's going to end up the happy wack job that he is, he'd have to have and equally insane family. There no WAY they'd let him pull a stunt like that. I mean, it'd be like Roy kicking the posse to the curb. They just wouldn't let it happen.
I think he just doesn't have family at all. And if to get ride of the hederodyne-death idea, it's just as possible he's simply an orphan. There are plenty of people with no family for perfectly average reasons.

Date: 2006-08-29 03:00 am (UTC)Plus that, Disownment On Good Terms is, to me, something one only does when one's a superhero. Insurance isn't covered by his family anymore - he's an adult, and his company trained him. To pilot a sales gimmick. The heterodynes were on nobody's plans and Akagi never goes to any parents to talk about it once they start showing up, so the time frame for any potential disownment doesn't work.
And I don't think Akagi could possibly detach himself like that. There's no way.

the middle two verses doesn't work, so I would be cutting them out.
::headdesk::
Ibuki and Aoyama:
I don't want to wonder
If this is a blunder
I don't want to worry whether
We're gonna stay together
'Till we die
Akagi:
I don't want to jump in
Unless this music's thumping
All the dishes rattle in the cupboards
When the elephants arrive
All choruses are their love for Dai-Guard, their friends/family, their city.
Akagi:
I don't want to hold back
I don't want to slip down
I don't want to think back to the one thing that I know I
Should have done
Shirota:
I don't want to doubt you
Know everything about you
I don't want to sit across the table from you
Wishing I could run
::sigh and woeface:: I don't even know how to properly vid comedy yet.
