Meme yoinked from [livejournal.com profile] penm, who I don't actually know, but who was on someone else's friends list where I saw this.

The Four Questions Meme:

Ask me four questions, no matter how personal, dirty, private or random. I have to answer them honestly.

I figure, why not?

Lastly, a poem:

Keylime
Talk and jokes only two in three can understand at a time
that makes up a kind of math that juggles
around salads and bread and "water with stuff in it"
to form a new equation whose answer is really
as simple as, "Again. In July."

I was going to post an heads-up on [livejournal.com profile] sandiegoslash for both our plans in July and for next month's Great Fannish Dining Experience(TM). That good by you?

Dude, pimp away. I'd love to make it a regular thing.

*grinning* 'Sides, you know a get together we went well when you get home and write poetry about it. Heh.

Remember: THE CON! (woot.)

Have pimped. We'll see if it takes. *G* Oh, and I'm so down with doing Cheesecake Factory next time. Yum.

I'm wondering if we need to set up a community or something for the con. Get a headcount on the fannish dinner we're doing beforehand, find out how many people want to come down but aren't sure they can do a hotel, match up hotel roomies, post links to the public transit sites, etc. I know a few other cons have comms. I think I'll poke around some of those this weekend and see what kinds of things tend to get posted.

Yeah, setting up a community might be a good idea. Are we sure that there isn't one for The Con already? Though, one geared specifically toward slashers, etc, might have its own audience.

Between the two of us (or drag in as many others as we can XD) I think we might really be able to work something cool out. Also, maybe add a little community service to the whole thing? Sponsoring something we all care about? A women's shelter? The GLBT youth facilities downtown? A comic book drive for some of the youth shelters or libraries around here?

I mean, I'm all about the good time, but I'm also all about showing everyone that fans are more than their fandom. We're a community. < /after school special >

*sheepish grin* Yeah...

Hmm, that's a good question. I'm going to look, but I'm betting we would have heard about it by now if there was one geared toward our particular fannish subset.

You know, I've been looking for some kind of Project Literacy thing in this area, so that last option really appeals to me. How would we go about that, though? I've never organized any such thing.

Hit post too soon.

We are, though, and I think it's a really good idea. Grooming future fans, even, if we go with that last idea. *G* That works with my enlightened self-interest approach to fandom.

so far
