1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
Quit a job, ate pie in Julian, got an apartment, met half of lj in person, used public transportation to commute to work, got a corner office.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more?
Well, I paid my rent every month, so that's something.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Cousin Justin's girlfriend, Lindsey. Last week! XD
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No. Thank God.
5. What countries did you visit?
I think I went to TJ at least once.
6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
A new car. Oh, God, a new car.
7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
November 20, and it's none of your business.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting and keeping the apartment. Woo being a grown up!
9. What was your biggest failure?
Quitting my job without having another job already lined up. I mean, it worked out alright in the end, but at the time it was a kinda stupid move.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Well, I'm currently getting over the only real cold I've had this year. Migraines and stuff, sure, but I've been remarkably healthy so far. Let's just hope the cough doesn't carry into the new year.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
External hard drive named Chewie. He's excellent and holds a vast storage of anime and now, SGA. Also, my wacom tablet is pretty sweet.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Bear for helping me through some tough stuff with the parents.
Gracie for being brave and moving so far away from home.
Bug and Wayne for listening and helping with my crazy plans.
Karot for seriously being there when I felt the need to have an existential crisis.
Permetaform for having me to dinner and introducing me to Rana and altering my understanding of lj as I knew it.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Bush.
Several of my coworkers at my previous job.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, student loans, car repair.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The apt, meeting new people, getting my car back from the shop (all five times), Saturday dinners, Tuesdays, and November 20.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier, though it's relative. Last was pretty good too.
ii. thinner or fatter? About the same, actually.
iii. richer or poorer? Well, I make more, but I also pay more in bills. Heh. It evens out.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Reading.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying about things I can't do anything about.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With the family, though this is the first year we did the big stuff on Christmas Eve rather than the day of.

Let's just say I've certainly started down that path. ^^

Zero.

Probably Law and Order: SVU. Though LandO as a rule seems to rule the apt. SVU is totally the best of them though, and Elliot and Olivia just make me the happy. I mean, they're actually worth the TiVo time.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Um. Well, I really hated my job by the time I left, and last year I was just reaching way annoyed. Then again, I've left there, so it's all good. Heh.
26. What was the best book you read?
Hoo... Um. Going with best and most recent I'm going to go with Good Omens and Traveling Mercies.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Asian Kung Fu Generation, James Blunt, October Project and Vienna Teng.
28. What did you want and get?
The Girl. ^^ Um, also the apt. Heh.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Kingdom Of Heaven, Wallace and Gromit, and King Kong (cried like a baby).
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Good grief, what did I do... Umm... I think I went to dinner? Or something? Um. Anyway, I was 24 and it was all good. Heh.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If my car hadn't broken down quite so many times.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
Sweaters.
34. What kept you sane?
Rana and Karot and Wayne. Or well, Wayne once she was back in the country. Heh. Having my own placed helped a lot too though. Just having the space to think and be and really? LJ has provided something very much like that.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Hmm... Well, I think the only one I didn't totally get sick of by the end was John Stewart, so there you go. *G*
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Katrina brought to light a huge number of sociopolitical issues that this country needs to deal with. It's something that affects so many other aspects of how this nation functions that really, dealing with our poverty is the main place change needs to start.
37. Who did you miss?
Wayne and Nan and Bug. Jem and most days now, Karot.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
*laughs* Best new person? Um. Well, there's definitely the local folks, so ... Heh. Rana and Karot who fill my time with wonderful things to do. And Wilde who betas like a brilliant woman. And Perma who introduced me to, well, so about a million things. And... Damn. Heh. Okay, let's just go with the whole flist here.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
Just go for it. Life is what's happening Right Now, and so just get out there and live it. Also, taking risks sometimes really, really pays off.
