Though, it's nearly impossible to explain the appeal if you don't already share it. I'm just a sucker for this kind of thing. War movies in particular. They're all such amazingly strong characters, making such huge sacrifices. And really, it's not about the guys who die or "give nobly to the cause" but the ones who get left behind that break my heart.
Besides, this is history. It's important to know and have a really understanding of this kind of thing.
