My involvement in fandom? Wow. Um. I started writing seriously on Thanksgiving of 2000. ^^; Important date so I remembered it. My first works were original. For the first few years that's how it went. And then, I dunno, I wrote "Catharsis" about Wolfwood, and "Courtship Roulette" about Susan Sto Helit's continued vagaries of finding a mate and went, "Well, may as well hit fan fiction dot net then" and that started my account. When I found Saiyuki (on a bishounen-centered artsite I'd trolled looking for images of Sesshoumaru, and then after borrowing the first four DVDs from a girl in the Visual Arts Club, and then devouring everything I could get my grubby li'l hands on) everything fell into place and I can honestly say that I didn't find fandom but that fandom found me. Meeting Opti and Wilde had a lot to do with it and getting involved on LJ was solely the prospect of playing Hakuryuu in U_A, because omg these writers I'd adored had volunteered me for the part! Even without that, I know I am a fan. I can't live without it and the highs I get from Roy's "I've Got A Date" Face or just the fact that 4Kids left in the part where Nami asked Luffy for help are too genuine for me to ignore. I'd have gotten involved somehow or I'd have exploded. I annoyed the crap outta Bunny before I found a 'healthy' outlet for it anyhow. Heee. Blame U_A. Waaaaha.
