4:00pm --> I'm about to start. Fudge first, and then the others. Rocky road should be done it two batches, one with nuts, one with toffee bits subbed in for the nuts. *takes a deep breath* Let's get this show on the road!
4:47pm --> There's been a shortage of marshmallow cream. Dad and the Bear have gone to the store. Once they get back, fudge pep. will enter final stages, and then we'll move on to rocky road.
6:30pm --> With a break for brief family drama and now dinner, the rocky road has been delayed. But it's next. I will rule that kitchen.
7:15pm --> Dinner's done, and it's time to get back to work. (Side note: Nightfall, love, I'm going to kill the muses. All of them! How can I cook with Hakkai making suggestions in the background all the time? Sanzo just sits there and smirks, but he expects tastes of everything and -- chocolate fumes headache!)
7:48pm --> Kitchen is now home to: one 13x9 pan of rocky road (with nuts), and 6lbs. fudge. Still to come? 4lbs. English toffee and another 13x9 pan of rocky road (without nuts). Am going to take a break now, and work on Christmas card, and gift boxes. Am hoping to be done with full candy making process by midnight. Woot.
10:33pm --> Toffee making started at a little after nine and wrapped up about 7 minutes ago. That stuff is both wicked good and wicked hard to make. Want to know what toffee is made of? Butter, sugar and water. If you count the topping there's chocolate too. It's the kind of thing that stops your heart, but damn you'll die happy. And now, back to the arts and crafts before starting in the final stage: rocky road sans nuts.
1:00am --> Well, the kitchen was my bitch for a little while at least. Didn't get the second batch of rocky road done, but tomorrow is another day. Am going to go to bed now and not dream of anything relating to sugar at all.
