A post where in I...

Pimp
Complement (two)
Brag about how cool we are.

(in that order too)

Pimping = [livejournal.com profile] nightfallrising provides illustrated evidence as to why it's not always a good idea to get Hakkai drunk. Then again, my thought is, to get a pattern like that Gojyo couldn't have been fighting too hard...

Complement 1 = [livejournal.com profile] snowyheart makes some rather interesting points about colours and the Saiyuki boys and what it might mean. She's a smart kid, that one.

Complement 2 = [livejournal.com profile] ranalore has a rant that I've got to say I agree with. And no, it had no bearing on this post what so ever :-P

I am cool because: We finally have a logo for Bad Hoodoo.

The lettering is temporary, as PT's got some really good stuff done we haven't managed to get into the computer yet. But yeah, there's draft number one. I dig it.

* * * * *

Dinner last night was brilliant. [livejournal.com profile] ranalore and [livejournal.com profile] permetaform and I had a brilliant time. CPK will never be the same. Heh. And I think next time it should be Cheesecake Factory. Dude. Caramel Apple cheesecake *eyes glaze over* mmmm....

But, no, yes, dinner = very good times. For those of you in the general SoCal area, there are going to be monthly (dude! We so need a club house or something! *snerks* "Fan-atics Only" or something equally cheese on the door.) dinner get togethers. It's all about uniting the fandom. It also means having to leave the computer long enough to actually meet. Which...hee.

Also, SAN DIEGO COMIC CON. I'm going. Which means you're going, right? Good, it's settled then. I'll see you in front of the convention center July 14-17th.

Finally, I have fic eating my brain. There isn't enough brain left with which to write. I'm thinking now that maybe I'll have to purge it all onto paper and then just dole it all out in small pieces as I recover from the horrors of a 9-5 job. Payroll deadline = *headdesk*.

And now -- to bed!

I can't imagine actually meeting fandom-friends in person. Is it odd, to put names to faces? Ages to writing? I'd feel young and tall, no matter who I talked to. ^^;;

That said, I think it'd be fantastically fun. *grins* Anyone going to be at ACen this summer? *crickets*

*sighs and returns to snow-shoveling*

Dude, wait until you see the "Day of the Dead" logo we've got. Hopefully that'll go up tonight. "Hoodoo Malo" is just wicked cool.

Meeting them really was great. It's kinda funny since you have NO idea what to expect, but *grins* I think this fandom lends itself toward the cooler end of the fannish spectrum.

Come on! The Con! *pulls out pimping handbook* SD's got it all -- beaches, sun, great places to eat, fun people *points to self* AND the biggest comic con ANYWHERE. *grins* 'Sides, we don't have snow. :-P

*runs to hide from the snowballs she knows are being thrown her way*

Hee! Thanks XD

Your look at the colour wheel was too good to pass up. Deep thoughts on anime must be shared with the masses. How else will we make them worship us so that we can one day rule the world?

Um...you all know you want to come to the grand ol' Midwest for Anime Central in June. You do, you do. Chicago is the greatest city evah, bar none. And I've been to quite a few.

Umm...I'm going to Boston some time in March or April?

*totally serious* Plane ticket, smane ticket. There's gotta be SOMETHING. Dude, we've got room. The Con is CALLING YOUR NAME.

Are you actually in Chicago? *ponders* Haven't been there yet, but I'd like to. I was looking UofC for grad school at one point. Actually, still looking at them, but not for a bit now. *shivers* But there's snow.

Yep, native Chicagoan. It's not just home-blindness, though--I'm fairly well-citied, and I think we've got the best mix of everything you could want--the lake, the sports, the theater, the culture, the size, the cleanliness, the art, blahblahblah (unless you include weather, but we get tough ^^).

I almost went to UChicago for undergrad, actually; I took some classes there during my junior year of high school. They've got some major pad thai in Hyde Park. Also some awesome indie bookstores.

I ended up choosing a school in Philadelphia, but--it's just not the same. ._. *mourns*

The cities, I meant--not the universities. Although they're radically different, too. ^^

I'd heard really good stuff about the city, which was one of the draws to UofC anyway. Though, it's nice to hear from a native that it really does have all the stuff the Uni keeps going on about.

Did/Do you like Philly? [livejournal.com profile] pvt_tiger went to school there and misses it a lot. Admittedly, she missed SD when she was out there, so I guess these things balance themselves out.

Oh, can I be oh-so-invasive and ask where she went? I'd just be so amused if LJ yielded another "Fighting Quaker." *grins*

Philly's quite nice, but I'm used to something a bit larger. ^^;

She's a kick-ass Quaker. *grins* You guys are every where.

I dug Philly while I was there, but I missed the weather in SD and the trees from Ohio.
