I need a facepalm icon.

How is it that no matter how old you get your parents are always capable of making you want to bang your head against the nearest available wall?

I love them. They love me. But. They don't-- I don't-- Nnrf.

Deep breaths and a long talk with the girlfriend help. Followed by an email to the parents because an apology never hurt anyone.

Seriously though, I'm 25. My mother shouldn't make me want to tear my hair out. Or at least shouldn't make me want to put up emo live journal posts about how lame my parents are.

Heh.

*wraps arms around you* Oh, hon.

I'll see you tonight, yeah? We'll rest then.

Don't kid yourself. I'll be 50 next birthday, and mine can STILL do that to me. It's not something that goes away. It just gets more embarrassing.

Today is the day of parents driving their children nuts. It must be a national holiday that you don't find out about until you are a parent yourself. But, I agree; this has to stop. The sad thing is, I don't believe it ever will. EVER. >:(

For now, I must be off to deal with the Father Person. *headdesk*

I don't have a problem with my parents... but I think my mother-in-law is a complete loon. Manic-Depressive at the least. Down right mean at the worst.

We solved our problem by not living within 4 states of her for a very long time.

I love my mom to death, I do, but she's also the fruitiest of fruit loops and can drive me absolutely bonkers. Not so much now that I don't live in the same state or even remotely close. But I do hear what you're saying. And I guess it's just because they're PARENTS. Frustrating their children - it kind of comes with the job description, I think.
