Three recs and a little announcement.
Dec. 28th, 2004 08:37 amI'm at work right now. Which, of course, means that I'm taking a moment to catch up on the FList and some fan fic. This also means I've got some kinda fun stuff to toss your way.
GetBackers
Shido was painfully aware that he was harboring what amounted to a schoolboy crush.
A Beginning, by NemKess.
A great little story. A pre-GetBackers look at the Infinite Fortress and the relationship between Shido and Kazuki. A quiet moment between the two men who need it.
Saiyuki
He was carrying a pot of tea and two cups, like some high-priced geisha initiating a ceremony. I snorted mentally at the thought. Hakkai on a self-appointed mission was bad enough, you couldn't induce me to get anywhere near a Hakkai trained for that shit.
See Me, by Sorchafyre.
I'm not sure that Sanzo is that much of a softie - the voice here is a little too...pleasant? to really be our favorite monk, but the observations and underlying humour are fantastic. A short-shot absolutely worth checking out.
Teen Titans
“Craniosacral Therapy,” Bart says, like the words are meant to mean something. He grins before Kon can hide the bafflement and goes on, “Wanna go somewhere else? Like, a movie? Orarestaurant? Oramoonlitwalkalongalonelycliff?”
Flying Analogies, by
minervasolo.
I actually read this for the first time a while ago, but looking for something else today stumbled across it again. I think I like it even more this time. Kon and Bart aren't two people you might think to throw together, but Min makes it work in the best way. The kind of fluff we all wish we could write.

On an entirely different note, I'd like to announce (as per the most helpful information that
nightfallrising provided), the creation of Bad Hoodoo Productions.
The goal is to eventually have published comics (we've got first draft scripts of at least two), and a line of snarky, yet wearable clothes, mostly t-shirts. Starting at this year's San Diego Comic Con *fingers crossed* we'll be selling our shirts, with the aim of having an actual comic for the Con. in 2006.
Wish us luck people. Wish us luck.
p.s. We're lookin' for a logo. Submissions would be more than welcome, and if we were to decide to go with yours...well, you'd have our eternal gratitude and maybe a shirt or something :-)
