I'm really loving actually seeing the episodes in order and seeing how the characters are revealed gradually, and seeing ow their relationships develop *as they develop.* It's a novelty for me. I've only before gotten that with anime!

See, I tend to be so haphazard at actually catching shows on TV (and being in Canada and not willing to spend exhorbitant amounts on super-extended cable, I don't get SGA at all anyway), so even when I get interested in a show, I tend to come in somewhere in the middle and then catch episodes sporatically all out of order. I think trying to watch that way is why I *couldn't* actually really get into SG1, even though I liked the main characters and found the snark hilarous and some of the premises seemed really fascinating -- but most of the times I tried to watch it, either I felt like I was missing out on all the larger context and history, or that it was a stand-alone filler episode that meant nothing. And now that I know where to find episodes to download, there's so frickin' many to catch up on that it's really overwhelming... which is why I'm so glad to see just how independent SGA is. ^_^
